Outreach Fort Collins is a professionally staffed, on-the-street team that builds relationships with community members, service providers, businesses, and city services as a means to effectively address and de-escalate disruptive behaviors downtown.
Nick Verni-Lau, Program Director
Nick has years of experience working with a variety of homeless and at-risk programs, including work in street outreach, housing, case management, and program development. After working in various homeless programs in Denver, Nick began his work as Program Director in Fort Collins in 2016.

Lisa joins our team as part of the SummitStone Health Partners Homeless Services team. Lisa completed her Masters of Social Work in May 2016 at Colorado State University and has been volunteering, interning or working as a service provider within the homeless community since 2012.
Emily Harms, Outreach Team Manager
Emily has a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communications from CSU, and eight years experience as a corporate recruiter. After a year of volunteering with Homeless Gear’s Street Outreach Team, Emily took a leap of faith switching professions. She has now been working with Outreach Fort Collins for over four years.

Kyle moved to Fort Collins at the beginning of 2020 after returning from service in the Peace
Corps. His background work is rooted in HIV/AIDS outreach and education and high-risk populations. He is excited to start this new chapter and to learn more about the area and those who call it
home.
Erin Penner, Outreach Specialist
Erin graduated from the University of Kansas in 2018 with her Bachelors in French and International Studies. She worked
at the Lawrence Community Shelter as a Direct Service Advocate. Erin moved to Fort Collins just before joining the Outreach team in August of 2020.

After 10 years as Advocate for Special Assistance Mental Health Client in the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System Office of Human Rights,
he retired and moved with his family to Fort Collins. Phil practiced Music Therapy working with a wide variety of seriously mentally ill populations in southern California over 13 years. Phil joined
Outreach Fort Collins in November, 2019 and enjoys being out on the streets meeting a wide range of people.
Andy Sprain, Strategic Engagement Manager
Andy grew up in Loveland and has lived in Fort Collins since 2007. Andy has ten years work experience in the non-profit sector and holds a Masters of Theological Studies. Andy joined the team as an outreach specialist in November 2017.
